The Nikon D800 is a ridiculously high quality amazing new digital SLR camera from Nikon that features a 36.3MP FX-format CMOS active pixel sensor. The D800 also features an Advanced Scene Recognition System with a 91,000 pixel RGB light meter. It also has an ISO range of 100-6400 which can be expanded to 50-25,600. You can also record HD video in 1080p at 30/25/24p or 720p at 60/50p in AVC format. The D800 gets 4 FPS of continuous shooting at full resolution.  There are tons of accessories for the Nikon D800 which include NIKKOR lenses, Flashes/Speedlights, stereo microphone, viewfinders/eyepieces, adapters, remotes, GPS units, wireless transmitters, releases and more.  The D800 has an electronically controlled vertical-travel focal-plane shutter which is able to capture images in as little as 1/8000 of a second to as long as 30 seconds.  The flash synchronizes with the shutter at 1/320 of a second  or slower (flash range drops at speeds between 1/250 and 1/320 of a second).  The Nikon D800 is hands down the best DSLR camera available today.
